About 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen,
towards Cancun, is a picturesque town called
Puerto Morelos, which retains part of its original
character as a fishing village, an economic activity
that still stands out in this town. It is a fairly quiet
place, ideal for those who want to get away from
the hustle and bustle of the cities.
There are many activities in this charming town, such as swimming and walking on the beach, kayaking and windsurfing when the waves of the reef lagoon are high. You can also go on a snorkeling tour and get to know the coral reefs and tropical fishes. Another fun adventure is go scuba diving at points within the Marine Park or on the gunboat, where you can see corals and sea creatures of all shapes and colors. There is also the Ruta de los Cenotes, where you will find a wide variety of underground rivers connected to each other. Walking through the main square and cycling through this town without much traffic is a very pleasant activity.
